For three weeks, Lance encountered the same unhoused man blocking CityTeam’s doors. One morning, he stopped and asked his name: “Josh.”
That simple question changed everything. They started seeing each other as human beings. When Ryan heard the story, it sparked a shared conviction to take action on the complex issue of homelessness and addiction. Through Ryan’s generosity, We All Have a Name (WAHAN) was born.
Born out of a shared desire to help build a vibrant, safe Portland, our coalition reshapes how we see and serve our homeless community. It begins with a simple but powerful act: showing up, consistently, relationally, and compassionately, to learn the names and needs of our unsheltered neighbors.
Join our coalition on a daily outreach initiative, every weekday.
Your support helps fund outreach events in Old Town, and helps us expand our work into more neighborhoods around Portland.
