Nathan lost his job right about the same time his apartment complex was sold, and all the residents had to move out.
Almost overnight, he was homeless. What Nathan didn’t expect was the toll being homeless would take on his body.
After getting off work in the morning, he would try to catch a few hours of sleep riding the BART train. Everywhere he went, he had to drag all his possessions along with him.
He recently had two mild heart attacks, just weeks apart.
“My doctor said I haven’t had enough rest,” he said.
Thankfully, Nathan is able to get some rest — and some nourishing meals here at Cityteam — thanks to the generosity of friends like you.
“If it wasn’t for Cityteam, I wouldn’t have a place to stay at night. Being able to get a good night’s sleep helps me stop worrying about tomorrow.”
The last time we heard from Nathan he had just been hired for his dream job and was working to secure permanent housing.
“I’m going to be all right,” he said. “God’s got me taken care of.”
