Thank you to all the friends and partners who helped CityTeam Seattle through the holidays this past year. We had just enough volunteers and food to help the poor and homeless who came to us with extreme need. Due to financial reasons, we had to close our shelter and recovery building on December 28th of last year and laid off some of our staff. This was a very hard thing to go through, but we are still dedicated to serving those less fortunate here in Seattle.
We are now using our 106 years of experience in working with the homeless and taking that same compassion and purpose into the community of Seattle, where there is also an extreme need. Families are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population. Our ministry will now focus on reaching out to families who live in poverty through a community outreach program that will help them before they become homeless and start living in cars and motels with their children. |
