Our Special Approach to Ministry

We have designed a comprehensive 12- 14 month program that emphasizes:

  • Big Book reading
  • Educational opportunities
  • Vocational training
  • Spiritual growth
  • Basic life skills
  • Counseling
  • Addiction education and relapse prevention

House of Grace is designed to teach these women to become self-sufficient by addressing their spiritual, educational, vocational and phychological needs.

House of Grace is a community-based model stressing:

  • Personal responsibility
  • Shared goals and support
  • Mentoring
  • Empowering (rather than enabling)

It is a place where women are taught how to rejoin the mainstream of community life where they can become productive citizens supporting themselves, their families and their community.

Benefits of Program

  • Keeps Family Unit Together
Until recently, homeless, addicted or abused women with young children had few options but to give up their children. House of Grace keeps the family unit together while women receive counseling, continued education and life skills training. Onsite day-care is provided for the young children while their mothers are in class or counseling sessions.
  • Reunification
House of Grace is a private program that helps women reunite with their children. We take referrals from other programs for women who need to work on reunification.
