Easter Hope
What
a privilege it is to bring Easter hope to those in
despair. When a person walks through our doors for
a meal, they receive so much more. Just yesterday
morning George was sitting at the breakfast table.
He asked to speak with me. He talked about his 25
years of homelessness and drug an alcohol addiction.
He's haunted by the shame he feels over the way he
has failed his family and the things that he has
done.
I was able to share with him the wonderful Easter
story of Christ's death and resurrection, which brings
hope to our lives. We prayed together, and he placed
his trust in Christ for forgiveness and started on
a new journey to experience a dynamic relationship
with Christ. Through our 12 to 18 month life-changing
residential recovery program, he will be able to
face himself, rectify his past and build a bright
future.
Homelessness in San Francisco continues to be a
heartbreaking problem. Authorities estimate that
around 8,000 people are living totally devastated
lives. They've lost all hope of ever having a better
life. But CityTeam's residential recovery program
is helping people who have been homeless to find
hope and healing as they rectify the past and prepare
for a wonderful future.
Thanks to your support we are able to provide hope
to all generations. Jeremiah 29:11 says: For I know
the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you
HOPE and a future!
