“You were taught, with
regard to your former way of life, to put off your
old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful
desires; to be made new in the attitude of your
minds; and to put on the new self, created to be
like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
-Ephesians 4:22-24
As many of you know it is an ongoing desire for
all of us here at CityTeam Ministries to help homeless
men and women find restoration for their lives and
a renewed hope in God’s ability to meet them
at their greatest point of need. A big part of this
is our commitment to help homeless men and women
break free of devastating addictions to alcohol and
drugs.
On Sixth Street 85% of the homeless population wrestles
with some form of chemical dependency. In response
to these staggering statistics, CityTeam Ministries
is launching a new format for our men’s drug
recovery program. God has given us an amazing opportunity
to free people from years of bondage to drugs and
alcohol through the life changing power of the Gospel.
In Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, he spells
out the call that God has on each of our lives: to
lay aside our old lifestyles-- which separated us
from real relationship with God-- and to take up
the new life that was purchased for each of us by
Jesus Christ. CityTeam’s recovery program offers,
to the men who are willing, an opportunity to respond
to this great call with their whole lives. We are
very excited about what God is doing! Please pray
for us as we enter into this time of transition and
pray especially for all of the men who will come
to our doors desperate to make a new start. Thank
you for your prayers!!!
Please pray for the staff and the residents of CityTeam.
Pray that God would have his hand in all of the new
program changes that are taking place here at the
mission.
Pray for all of the men and women who will be guests
in our mission this month, that God would touch them
with the message of the Gospel and transform their
lives.
Please continue to pray that God will help us to
raise all of the financial resources we need to continue
serving the people of Sixth Street.
God Bless Each of You!
