Compass Academy
Learning Center & Life Skills
As our goal is to help the whole person in recovery, we provide tools to fill the educational gaps that so many of our clients have. Each person receives diagnostic testing and is placed in the program based on their needs. Men and women can work towards receiving their GED, learn to read or sharpen their basic skills.
The Learning Center is a place where adult students can practice living in a community, a very important aspect of long-term recovery, as well as helping each other grow both educationally and relationally.
Career Enhancement Services
Our educational system (The NOVA Program) was implemented May 1999-we are reaping its benefits! It's more effective with lower range students, assists the mid-level student, plus can move students to a much higher level than before--a high school diploma is even within reach! Following educational preparation comes Career Enhancement Services--designed to help individual students prepare for careers or further schooling once they complete their goals in the Compass Academy. From aptitude testing and resume writing to interviewing skills and more, candidates are guided through a process designed to help them succeed-and become a productive member of our communities.
Each One Hire One
This program is an opportunity for local businesspersons to provide internships for men and women who have been through CityTeam International's residential programs for long-term rehabilitation. Read the flyer describing the program to learn how you can make a tremendous difference. Also, read a testimony of a businessperson involved in the program.
