HISTORY OF A.A.

What Early A.A. Was Really Like?
You will only get glimpses of this in A.A.'s basic text today and may not get the true answers to this question in our meetings. But the simplicity of early A.A. will really astound you! On this website we believe that to understand Alcoholics Anonymous you have to start with A.A. group #1 in Akron which developed into our program and all other twelve step programs were based on what developed there.

We must learn about the movements that preceded this group such as the Oxford Groups and their influence over Alcoholics Anonymous’ program.

We must also learn from what is written in the basic text on the original Twelve Step program the big “Alcoholics Anonymous” book an other related materials.

We hope this information will help many to achieve recovery and a better way of life as it has done for many who have come before us
