Backpacks for Success

You can help a needy child succeed in school

Imagine you are a child heading back to school this fall without paper, pencils and other necessary supplies.

With the slowing economy and the hike in gas and food prices, many low-income parents are struggling to simply put food on the table. When the new school year starts in the fall, many have to choose between buying food or buying school supplies. This choice often results in children not having the school supplies they need.

With your help, these children can feel confident and encouraged being sent off to school with everything they need through our Backpacks for Success Program. Just follow the simple steps below.

Put together your own backpacks filled with the school supplies listed below

Directions:

• Choose which age group you would like to purchase a backpack(s) for. Purchase the materials on the school supply list for that age group and put the supplies inside of the backpack. Note: Please make sure that the backpacks do not have violent characters on them.
• Attach the provided “Backpack Gift Tag” to the backpack after signing your name on it.

• Drop off or send your backpack(s) to the CityTeam location nearest you. Addresses and contact infomation is listed at the bottom of this page.
  

This is a great project to get a group of people involved in. Bring the backpack that you are going to send to CityTeam into your Sunday School class, your Bible study group, your office or to dinner with some friends, and show them how easy it is to help a child who needs confidence.
