CityTeam Portland offers several different programs that reach out to those severely in need in our community. All of these programs incorporate a chance for our staff and volunteers to consistently walk alongside someone and explain God’s unconditional love for them in order to formulate an everlasting real change in their lives.

Family Services and Community Outreac

Family Services and Community Outreach provides low-income households with emergency food, clothing, hygiene products, furniture, referral assistance, opportunity for outpatient recovery meetings and weekly small home groups.

Each summer, we focus on collecting backpacks and educational supplies that will be delivered during the month of August to at-risk youth in our community.

Men's Recovery

Our Feeding Program focuses on serving a healthy, well-rounded meal each evening (except Sunday) for low-income or homeless men, women and children, as well as, for community events to foster fun and fellowship along with the meal. A hot meal is often the first step toward helping a homeless person get a fresh, new start in life.

Emergency Shelter is offered to homeless men each evening providing them with a safe place to sleep, a nourishing meal, encouragement, clean clothing, a hot shower and a warm bed.

Men’s Long-term Recovery is a nine-month to two-year program that offers men the ability to escape the vice-grip of addiction with the help of in-depth individual and group counseling, community involvement and many other vital services. Upon completion of this program, clients receive a graduation certificate at a formal ceremony.

Men’s Short-term Recovery is a three-six month program that offers in-depth group study sessions of the Bible, AA Big Book and 12-Step meetings. Clients fulfilling requirements of this program receive a certificate of completion.

Feeding Programs

On-site and off-site AA Big Book Studies allow for recovery opportunities to reach deeper into a community of need.

Women Only Hours are offered during the weekdays at the mission. A Bible study is held, followed by showers, clothing and a food and fellowship time. This is an opportunity for ladies to experience a safe and welcoming environment where they can freely share their thoughts and emotions about the struggles they face as women on the streets. Fall/Winter hours: M, W, F, 9:30-11:30am.

Learning Center

As our goal is to help the whole person in recovery, we provide tools to fill the educational gaps that so many of our clients have.  In our Educational Learning Center, each person receives diagnostic testing and is placed in the program based on their needs. This self-paced, computer-interactive approach to education allows students to move from their accessed starting place to the point of their highest level of success.  Students may work toward earning a GED or apply for college entrance as part of their academic plan.
