Portland Programs

Thousands of people and families suffer each year from hunger, homelessness, abandonment, drug and alcohol addiction and many other impoverishing situations. CityTeam Portland believes that each person we help can be the key to ending the cycle of poverty, homelessness and despair for a whole family.

Time and time again, we have seen hope restored, hearts renewed, and lives changed because someone cared enough to reach out. Partner with CityTeam by volunteering and donating today!

Family Services and Community Outreach provides low–income households with emergency food, clothing, hygiene products, referral assistance, opportunity for outpatient recovery meetings and weekly small home groups. Each summer, we focus on collecting backpacks and educational supplies that will be delivered during the month of August to at–risk youth in our community. Learn more

Our Feeding Program focuses on serving a healthy, well–rounded meal each evening (except Sunday) for low-income or homeless men, women and children, as well as, for community events to foster fun and fellowship along with the meal. A hot meal is often the first step toward helping a homeless person get a fresh, new start in life.

Emergency Shelter is offered to homeless men each evening providing them with a safe place to sleep, a nourishing meal, encouragement, clean clothing, a hot shower and a warm bed.

Men's Long–term Recovery averages 12 months in length and offers men the ability to escape the vice–grip of addiction through individual case management, recovery–based classes, community involvement and many other vital services.

Men's Short–term Recovery is a three to six month program that offers in-depth group study sessions of the Bible, AA Big Book and 12–Step meetings. Clients fulfilling the short–term requirements are encouraged to join the long–term program for an even deeper level of success in their addiction recovery.

On–site AA Big Book Studies allow for recovery opportunities to reach deeper into a community of need.

As our goal is to help the whole person in recovery, we provide tools to fill the educational gaps that so many of our clients have. In our Educational Learning Center, each person receives diagnostic testing and is placed into the program based on their individual needs. This self–paced, computerinteractive approach to education allows students to move from their accessed starting place to the point of their highest level of success. Students may work toward earning a GED or apply for college entrance as part of their academic plan.

Women Only Hours are offered during the weekdays at the mission (times and days vary each season). A Bible study is held, followed by showers, clothing and a food and fellowship time. This is an opportunity for ladies to experience a safe and welcoming environment where they can freely share their thoughts and emotions about the struggles they face as women on the streets.
