Chapels
Every night, CityTeam Oakland opens its doors to the community for worship and discipleship. Specializing in meeting the needs of those living in our shelter and on the street, we focus each night on a different aspect of the life of faith. We are looking for groups and individuals to help us meet the spiritual needs of downtown. The weekly schedule is as follows:
Monday - Small Group Bible Discussions – volunteer facilitators needed (one time, monthly, or weekly). Help facilitate a basic discussion as we work our way from Creation to Christ, learning what God says about himself and his relationship to us. No bible scholars needed! We will train that night on the lesson. You are facilitating a discussion, not teaching. We need up to 10 facilitators each Monday night.
Tuesday - Musical Worship Night – worship leaders needed (one time, monthly, or weekly). Facilitate a worship experience through your own style of music. Choirs, bands, instrumentalists, soloists, ethnic music groups, all are welcome.
Wednesday - Chapel is closed for our AA Way Out Meeting, facilitated by our recovery residents. This is a registered open men’s meeting.
Thursday - CARE Groups – volunteer facilitators needed (monthly or weekly). Small groups that do a “check-in”, looking to meet the felt needs for connection to others and prayer. Weekly facilitators will ideally develop a connection with the same small group of people. Men are especially needed for this.
Friday - Youth Group night – youth groups needed (one time or monthly). Youth groups come in to provide a chapel service, including music, drama, testimonies, and an encouraging message.
Saturday - Teaching night – speakers needed (scheduled individually about 1x every 4-6 weeks). Bring an encouraging message from the Bible, teaching about salvation or basic discipleship issues.
Sunday - Mix it up night – we welcome special guests, bands, youth groups, any variety of chapel style on Sunday nights.
If you see a date in mind for your group, please contact Bobbi at 510.452.3758 x28 / brollins@cityteam.org.
