The goal of CityTeam is to help addicted people reach a turning point and commit to allowing God to control their lives.

Everyone loves Raymond--and has a question for him

When people who have never used drugs talk with a recovering addict, the question they most often ask is "What was the turning point in your life?"

For Ray, who recently graduated from CityTeam's Residential Recovery Program, the turning point came after five years on the street stealing, hustling, and using drugs. One day, he was in a cheap hotel room with a group of other junkies getting high. Suddenly he stopped, looked around and was shocked by what he saw. He somehow came to the realization that he was very different person from the others in the room. He asked himself, "What am I doing with my life?!"

At that moment, he divined that he no longer wanted to live a life of drug-induced paranoia, monthly jail stints and sleeping in alleys. Within three months, Ray was enrolled in CityTeam's recovery program and on his way back to a new life.

Today, Ray is working, back in school and helping others stay clean and sober. He's walking with the Lord and blessed that God is using him to reach others who are imprisoned by drug addiction. Talk about turning points.

What's not to love, right?
