Help Sustain the Momentum - Donate On-line Today! In the past 20 years, we’ve never seen firmly established Muslims so willing to receive the Gospel and so quick to share it with their families, friends and neighbors. We cannot let an opportunity like this go unsupported!
The key to this movement is the training, transportation, and support of church planters and church planting trainers necessary to sustain the momentum that God has given in West Africa. Our hope is to build a permanent training center in a central location that is continuously training new church planters and to immediately launch 50 Apostolic Teams from those who have already been trained. Please pray for this project. Here is the breakdown of our financial plan for June-December 2006:
Training Center: $88,700
The construction of a training center to house, feed and train up to 200 church planters and trainers at a time. The 40 acres of land has already been purchased and the foundation has already been laid but we can’t start work on the dormitory, kitchen, 6 major training rooms, a library and meeting hall until the necessary funds have been received.
Equipping 50 Apostolic Teams $87,500
50 teams of two will be sent out to launch the church planting process in new villages throughout the region. One member of each team will be an experienced church planter and one will be a new member in training. The cost of supporting a team of two is $250 per month for their transportation and living expenses for 7 months.
100 Bicycles $10,000
One bicycle will be supplied for each member of the church planting team. Each team has to travel at least 10 miles to reach a village and sometimes much greater distances. Bicycles give church planting teams an opportunity to reach much farther than they could on foot.4 Motorcycles $4,000
Motorcycles are needed as transportation for Strategy Coordinators. Strategy Coordinators are the senior leaders who develop the plans and oversee the work in different areas and regions. Their job requires that they be able to cover large amounts of territory in order to monitor the work and research new areas.
Many people who desperately need basic medical care are forgotten or the nearest medical clinic is miles away and takes days to walk to. Currently our team already has the staff and a medical van. Our goal is to treat 600 people per month with antibiotics, anti-malarials, antiseptic wound care, pain relief, and care for common illnesses at a cost of $1,000 per month.
Feeding & Clothing the Poor $2,800
Meeting these basic needs paves the way for church planters to gain access to communities where they normally would not be accepted. The provision of immediate feeding, dry rations for future use, and needed clothing costs $400 per month for every 250 people served. Over 7 months the total number of people served would be 1,750.
