Donating Your Vehicle Can Help Change Lives
We at Cityteam are sincerely grateful for donations from our donors as they help keep our overhead costs down and provide an opportunity for us to connect with our community members.
What can I donate?
Cars, vans, trucks, SUV's, and motorcycles. We also accept donations of Real Estate.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Cityteam is a 501(c) all donations are tax deductible and the individual will receive a receipt upon donation.
Congress has passed new laws about these tax deductions. Please see IRS Publication 4303, "A Donor's Guide to Car Donations"
How much of the value goes to Cityteam?
Every penny--Since there are no middlemen, 100% of your vehicle's value goes to Cityteam and it's programs throughout the Bay Area.
Do I need the title to the vehicle?
We'd like the title to the vehicle. But, if you do not have title papers let us know; other arrangements can be made in most instances..
My car has not run in years. Can I still donate it?
Yes! In most cases if the vehicle does not operate, we will make all the arrangements to have it picked up at no cost to you. However, the condition of your vehicle will affect the fair market value of your donation.
How is the value of my car determined?
We can refer you to IRS Publication which sets forth the manner in which the IRS requires you to determine the value of your donated property. You can review this publication on the IRS website right now. If your donation is worth more than $5,000 you will need an appraisal for tax purposes.
How will the car be picked up?
At the scheduled time, we will arrange the proper vehicle to tow your car, boat, truck, RV or travel trailer.
How long will it take to pick up my car?
As soon as you contact us, we can normally pick up your car within a few days. If you need your car picked up sooner, we can make those arrangements.
