Child Sponsorship FAQ
Donate NowWhat is Child Sponsorship?
CityTeam International Child Sponsorship is a unique opportunity to share the love of Christ with disadvantaged children and help them break the cycle of poverty by equipping them with the tools they need for a successful and fulfilling life.
How does Child Sponsorship work?
Your monthly pledge helps fund our programs that meet the basic needs of those who are suffering from the effects of poverty by providing them with food boxes, meals, clothing and shoes, blankets, furniture. Counseling, Tutoring, and Discipleship are also made available to the children in a safe and clean environment.
What does my monthly pledge provide?Child Sponsorship
When you become a Child Sponsor you are partnering with CityTeam International to help meet both the physical and emotional needs of disadvantaged children through your consistent giving.
How is CityTeam International Child Sponsorship different from other Child Sponsorship programs?
CityTeam International Child Sponsorship is unique in that it does not create dependency, but instead opportunities for disadvantaged children to learn and grow. In addition to meeting their basic needs, our Child Sponsorship program provides children with Biblical counseling and mentorship that facilitate growth and encourage them to make wise decisions.
As a Child Sponsor What Kind of Feedback will I receive?
Each month our Child Sponsorship website will be updated with the story of a child who is benefiting from our program keeping you up to date on the impact your monthly pledge is having in the lives of needy children.
Is my monthly pledge going to support a specific child?
Your gift along with the gifts of other Child Sponsors fund programs that meet the basic needs of disadvantaged children and provide programs that encourage personal growth and development while showing them God’s love.
Why is Child Sponsorship only available in San Jose and Philadelphia?
CityTeam International serves six cities in the United States, but currently only our San Jose and Philadelphia locations provide children’s programs. Our other locations serve poor and homeless adults by providing them with food, clothing, safe shelter and other essential care along with counseling and recovery programs.
