Call to Prayer
Prayer is at the foundation of everything we do here at Cityteam. God asks us to love and obey Him – then compassionately love our neighbors in need – and then teach them to love and obey Him. God has created all of us with the natural hunger for a relationship with Him. Prayer works in the context of that relationship. Once the relationship is established, you find that prayer is a natural expression of loving God. It is simply speaking and listening to our Heavenly Father.
Our faith and love towards God will lead us to recognize His presence with us, to talk with Him, to listen to Him, to sense Him. This is prayer. We express our thanks, our faith, our love, our hopes with God in prayer, and we receive from Him answers, assurance, guidance, peace, strength, power, revelation of who He is and what He wants to do. (Matthew 7:7-8; John 16:13; Philippians 4:6-7; Ephesians 1:17,18)
The Word of God will take root in the hearts of everyone even our Muslim friends. It is our privilege and responsibility to pray for God to open the hearts of Muslims for the Gospel. Through these prayers, the Holy Spirit will move in the hearts of our Muslim friends, co-workers, and neighbors.
Join with thousands of others who commit to pray on Fridays at noon for all of our outreaches here at Cityteam and those we minister to around the world as well as the Muslim community. The Call to Prayer will aid us in this commitment to love God, love our neighbors in need and disciple the nations.
Why Fridays at noon? This is the time most Muslims will attend the mosque for congregational prayers. They are often spiritually attuned during this time, so this is a strategic time to unite in prayer. As Christians join together, interceding on behalf of Muslims, we know God will perform a mighty work in our days.
